BFM TV Broadcasts News Story based on Kids&Us Survey in France

Published 06/11/2016

In September, BFM TV -one of France’s leading news channels- revealed that ‘the French are complaining about the fact that their English classes are in French’. The statistics do not lie. Most people who took part in the survey think that the main problems are the teaching method used and late exposure to the language.

The International Kids&Us survey, in which more than 3400 parents from France, Mexico, Italy and Spain took part, shows that 44% of French people admit to not having a high enough level of English to be able to express themselves or understand the language properly.

Over 60% believe that the biggest setback is the teaching method used together with the late age at which they started learning the language. More than 80% affirm that they did not start learning English until the age of 10, while 48% think they should have started learning before the age of 3.
